John Mahon

Experience:  From 1996 to 2005 John was Director and VP of European Operations with Tally Systems.john Mahon  Tally Systems was a US software company who developed software asset management systems targeted at large global end user clients.  John’s role involved starting the European office in Dublin from zero base and growing an EMEA wide sales, marketing and support team in support of direct and channel go-to-market models.  Significant successes included developing several new partners to revenue run rates in excess of €1m pa, proposing and leading a successful new model in the OEM space and the acquisition of blue chip clients in U.K, France and Germany.

In 2005 Tally Systems was acquired by Novell Inc, where John drove new business development and cross selling to an enlarged European client base.

In 2007 he set up ChessBoard Associates – a management consultancy providing services to SME’s to drive Sales and Marketing Process optimization.

Expertise: Prior to the aforementioned, John developed extensive selling experience both directly and through channel partners across the IT hardware, software, services spectrum.  He sold with companies such as Digital Equipment, Mentec International and Hewlett-Packard.  With Digital he worked and lived in Saudi Arabia for three years.

Before moving to sales, he worked as a quality engineer in the computer manufacturing sector with Amdahl Corporation.

John is an electronic engineer by training.  He also completed a Certified Diploma in Accounting and Finance with the ACCA.
