Action Planning for 2009
Designed and Facilitated by Miriam Ahern, Network Manger for the Dublin City Enterprise Network for Women event on Monday 10th November.
Now that your end-of-year accounts have been closed off you probably have a little breathing time before facing the chaos of Christmas and confronting the challenges of another new year.
To help you to use this time well, we are going to hold a special action planning workshop at our networking event next Tuesday. When you register for this event, you will receive your personal action planning template by return email.
Each participant at this workshop will assume the dual role of Client and Consultant.
As the Client, you will outline on your template one priority problem or goal that you would like to resolve or achieve in the near future. One sentence is all that’s required and the more specific but concise you are the better. For the best possible outcome, you are requested to complete this part of the exercise in advance of your arrival at the event.
At the workshop, you will pass your template to the person (consultant) on your left - that person will build on your task for a couple of minutes. Each consultant’s focus will be on defining or recommending actions to kick-start the client’s project.
The event facilitator will indicate when it is time to pass the templates around the table to the next consultant. The same process will continue until each template is back in the hands of its client.
When the templates are back with their original owners, the facilitator will initiate an open discussion on the exercise and its outcomes.

About Miriam Ahern
Miriam Ahern is a Certified Management Consultant who specialises in Organisation Change and Development. She is also a network manger and mentor with Dublin City Enterprise Board.
Miriam founded her company - Align Management Solutions - in 2001. Her clients include multinational companies and sole traders.
For ten years she was Group Organisation Development and Human Resources Director of Alphyra PLC. Prior to that she worked in sales, marketing and PR.
Miriam has an MSc Degree in Management Practice from Trinity College. She is a director of the Institute of Management Consultants and Advisers and is a Fŕs accredited trainer. She is a qualified executive coach and an experienced facilitator.
