About the Briefing

Benjamin Franklin, the great American scientist, inventor and statesman once said, “Glass, china, and reputation are easily cracked, and never well mended.” Even in the early 1800’s, the importance of reputation was not underestimated. Today, we are more likely to relate to Warren Buffets’s comment, “It takes 20 years to build a reputation and just five minutes to ruin it.”

In this economically difficult period, a corporate reputation is more important than ever. But what is a corporate reputation and why is it so vital to your company strategy and its growth?

A corporate reputation is everything. It is a central component of your business, a reflection of who you are as observed by your customers, investors, stakeholders, employees and competitors. The strength of a reputation is critical in today's business environment, as customers turn first to people and organisations who are both familiar and have a strong reputation.

Developing and building an effective corporate reputation is an essential competitive strategy, positively driving perceptions of you and your business and fuelling business results. Making your reputation tangible and subsequently leveraging it can allow you to build a competitive advantage in the marketplace, helping to create value for you and your company.

This briefing will examine:

  • The importance of building a corporate reputation
  • Why it should be a vital part of your company strategy
  • How to audit and measure your company’s corporate reputation
  • The key components of a corporate reputation
  • How to leverage your reputation strategically in the marketplace
  • Highlight examples of national and international case studies
