The Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Association is hosting a networking event on Thursday the 31st March at the Davenport Hotel.
The CAIA is an organisation company specializing in the ‘alternative investments’ industry. This is characterised as dealing with asset classes and investments other than standard equity or fixed income products. CAIA exams are designed to give finance professionals the extensive knowledge in alternative investments with a focus on private equity, managed futures and hedge funds.
The event itself will be introduced by Mr. Steven Wallace, the Director of Industry Relations at CAIA Association. The guest speaker is Dr. John Teeling, who will be talking about ‘Junior Companies in the Resources Boom’.
Mr. Teeling enjoys an illustrious business career and has gained invaluable experience in a wide variety of areas such as founding 12 stock exchange listed natural resource companies, zinc exploration in Limerick, gold and diamond operations in Africa and he has a Doctorate from Harvard Business School.
There will be a Q&A session shortly after Dr. Teeling finishes his presentation. He will outline such topics as:
• Is the commodity boom real?
• Making money investing in junior resource companies
• Risk management guidelines
• Identifying a workable strategy

Registration is taken at the door and admission is completely free of charge. There is also a wine & cheese reception taking place after the Q&A session, to give the attendees a chance to network and make new business connections.
