Cold-Call Effectively For Business

Why don’t business people in Ireland like cold calling? Is it the lack of preparation or the fear of rejection?
Learning how to cold-call effectively for business is the theme for the next meeting of the Dublin City Enterprise Network for Women, which takes place on Monday, April 12th.

Karen Sommerville from Call Focus will talk to members on the topic of ‘Effective Cold-Calling’, giving advice around preparation and planning, overcoming reluctance, dealing with rejection and measuring results.
More importantly, Karen will give top tips around taking the right approach on the phone in order to generate real sales.

Profile of Karen Sommerville (Call Focus)Karen Sommerville offers a wealth of experience in many areas of communications, sales and customer service training, but is especially known in the area of cold calling, telesales, customer service and direct marketing training.
With over 20 years experience in various sales and marketing roles, Karen has worked across a number of different industry sectors including direct, distribution and outsourced telemarketing businesses.
Karen understands that the key to a successful business is to make each and every customer feel special at all times in order to build confidence with customers, maximise business opportunities and ultimately increase sales. Her delivery and training style is very energetic, practical, and interactive; with all exercises and discussions focused around participant’s real life situations and business needs. As a result, Karen regularly achieves satisfaction ratings exceeding 85% on many of her training programmes.
Karen is also an established trainer for many different groups including various Skillnets, Enterprise Boards, Business Associations and educational bodies as well as a number of private clients. Karen holds an honours degree in Business Studies, is a member of the Marketing Institute and a business mentor for Enterprise Ireland. She has also successfully completed the certificate in Education and Training and is a FAS registered trainer.
