Coping Tips When You Feel Over-Burdened

Coping Tips When You Feel Over-Burdened

Octavius Black of The Mind Gym's tips on how to cope when you feel over-burdened.

See below:

  • Stop and Think: A few moments spent reflecting and planning will save crucial time later on.
  • Avoid Action Illusion: Once you have decided on your first task, stop organising and start doing.
  • Manage your Energy:  What times in the day are you most effective. AM/PM/ Late at night. Tackle new and complicated projects when you are at your best
  • Conduct fleeting meetings: If a meeting is wandering, bring it back on track. Before the meeting, ask "what , do we want to achieve here and how long should it take"
  • Let go: Swallow your pride and don't be afraid to accept help or delegate
  • Say the Magic Word: NO. It's the most useful word in time management. Say it politely, clearly and as often as you need to
  • Grab some "Me Time" - Take 15 minutes out (away from your work station etc) in the morning and the afternoon. Go for a walk, change your environment etc. when you come back, you will be fresher and your mind clearer!
