Cora Barnes of Three Q Catering wins Dublin City Female Entrepreneur Award 2006

Cora Barnes of Three Q Catering wins Dublin City Female Entrepreneur Award 2006

The Dublin City Female Entrepreneur of the Year Award was presented this week to Cora Barnes of Three Q Catering. Presenting this award to Cora were Orla Barry from Newstalk Radio, guest speaker and Greg Swift, CEO of the Dublin City Enterprise Board.

Started in 1999 3Q Catering was established by three friends who worked together in a generalist recruitment agency. They spotted a gap in the market place for a quality recruiter for the catering industry that would concentrate solely on this market. Whilst three other catering recruitment specialists were in operation none of them were pursing the temporary contracts market and were providing only permanent placement services. All three partners have experience in working in the industry and were familiar with client needs. The name Three Q Catering spells out the company’s founding mission: To offer a Quality service, with Qualified Staff in the Quantity our clients require. Cora joined the Dublin City Enterprise Network for Women, run by the Dublin City Enterprise Board for female entrepreneurs, in 2005, and as part of this network, the Dublin City Female Entrepreneur of the Year Award is selected from network members, of which there are nearly 100 established female entrepreneurs who regularly take part in the network. “The Networks are a great idea for people in business to discuss with other small business owners common issues & allow us to see what other people are doing. The Networks have assisted me personally to be excited about my business again and reminded me of the reasons why we went into business to begin with!” Cora Barnes, 3 Q Catering winner of the Dublin City Enterprise Network for Women commented at the presentation of the 2006 award to her. “Cora Barnes of Three Q Catering is passionate about quality, from earning the FAS Excellence Through People quality mark to delivering excellent customer service to her clients. She identified a market need and has grown a steady business with 8 full time staff and over 100 contractors, while also managing achieve personal goals including charity work and learning to swim.
