DCEB celebrate Female Entrepreneurship with announcing the Dublin City Female Entrepreneur of 2006

Radio personality, Orla Barry from Newstalk 106 will announce the Dublin City Female Entrepreneur of 2006. Dublin City Enterprise Board sponsor the Award and it will be presented at their Enterprise Network for Women meeting on October 9th.

This month, at the Dublin City Enterprise Network for Women meeting in Printing House Hall, Trinity College Dublin at 7-9pm popular broadcaster Orla Barry from Newstalk 106 will be speaking about how to use the media to effectively increase your business profile. She will also present the Dublin City Female Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2006. “Winning the award last year really helped me focus on how much the business has achieved and where we can bring it to in the future. The support I have received from the Dublin City Enterprise Board and its Enterprise Network for Women has really pushed me forward in achieving my goals both for myself as an entrepreneur and for the business”, commented the 2005 Dublin City Female Entrepreneur of the Year, Pamela Fitzmaurice of Blazing Salads (www.blazingsalads.com) Ayelet Lalor (http://www.ayeletceramics.com) is the artist who was commissioned to make the award. Ayelet is a client of the Dublin City Enterprise Board and they are delighted to commission her for this prestigious award. The winner will also receive the prize worth €1,000. The network is a great opportunity to meet other women who have either set up their own business or are thinking of setting up in business. The network meetings feature guest speakers to discuss their experience in business. Previous speakers include Norman Hewson (Nude), Veronica Canning (Academy for Leaders) and Patricia Callan (Small Firms Association). About the Dublin City Enterprise Network for Women The Dublin City Enterprise Network for Women is a Dublin City Enterprise Board initiative that aims to provide encouragement and support to women in business in the Dublin City area. The Dublin City Enterprise Network for Women has been set up to create a Business Network within which women already in business or considering starting up, will have an opportunity to share experiences. It aims to create and foster an entrepreneurial culture amongst women in Dublin City and create an enterprise environment for potential women entrepreneurs which will encourage more women to become involved in starting up their own business. DCEB provide an ongoing programme of activities on business related topics and entrepreneurial skills and the Network Project Manager who is available on an ongoing basis to assist female entrepreneurs.
