Croke Park was a hive of industry on Thursday, April 14th as second level students from all over the nation gathered in the Capital for the National Final of the Student Enterprise Awards.
Proudly representing Dublin City in the Junior Category were ‘The Write Time’ from Loreto on the Green; in the Intermediate Category were ‘Crystal Images & Accessories’ from St. Dominic’s in Cabra, and our Senior category entrants were ‘Home Bird Eggs’ also from St. Dominic’s.
Since winning the Dublin City Finals on March 10th, the Dublin City Students have been very busy, making final preparations for the national level competition. They have also been getting used to the media interest that their entrepreneurial efforts have attracted.
All three category winners were featured on the ‘Down to Business’ show presented by Bobby Kerr on Newstalk. The senior winners from St. Dominic’s in Cabra were also featured in the Irish Independent and on Morning Ireland on RTE Radio One in the run up to the National Final.
The overall winner of the Junior Category on April 14th was ‘ Awe Wish Ireland’ from Louth. The Intermediate winners were ‘Grian Dingle Peninsula Playing Cards’ from Co. Kerry and ‘Rosso Solini’ from Co. Kildare won the Senior Category Award.
Congratulations to all of the students from twenty-one schools across Dublin City who took part in the Dublin City Student Enterprise programme this year, and we look forward to starting the search for budding entrepreneurs again in September!
