Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards 2011

Small to medium enterprises and sole traders are encouraged to enter into this year's Entrepreneur of the Year Awards.

Now in its 14th year, the Entrepreneur of the Year Awards, which are organised by Ernst & Young, are back to celebrate innovation and hard work of the brave few who dare to set up their own business.

The EOY’s are looking for nominations, so if you know a friend that started their own business and is still in higher management levels, or even if you wish to nominate yourself, please download the entry forms and enter your details at www.eoy2011.com . The closing date for entry is March 31st.

A nominee or entrant must be the founder or owner of a business that is at least 2 years old. Public companies may also enter however the founders must still be in at least top level management. All nominees must own at least 5% of the company to be eligible. Anyone can nominate a successful entrepreneur, including themselves. The nomination process is completely free of charge.

A shortlist of 24 finalists will be announced in May. Finalists are invited on a retreat to India, for a chance to network and build lasting business friendships and relations.

There are 3 categories:
• International Entrepreneur of the Year – Medium to Larger sized Enterprises
• Industry Entrepreneur of the Year
• Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year – Small to Medium and Sole Traders

There is also an overall 2011 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award. The winner of this goes on to represent Ireland at the next stage which is the International Entrepreneur of the Year.
