
The Winner of the Award for the Most Improved Business in the Dublin City Enterprise Network for Women in 2009 is Karen Brown of Chic Commodities.

Karen’s company Chic Commodities is a leading distributor of “ethical and green” brands including an organic fake tan retail range, a professional spray tan, an organic skincare range for men and pure mineral cosmetics. Karen has grown the business from 2 to 7 people over a 2 year period. Among the company’s achievements in 2009 were rolling out of their brands to stockists nationwide, opening a flagship city centre concession for the Vani-T Brand, being selected by SFA as Best Emerging New Business 2009 and launching their own brand.
The Winner of the Rising Star award in the Dublin City Enterprise Network for Women in 2009 is Agata Stoinska of D-Lite Studios. Agata’s company D-Lite Studios rents studio space for photographers, television crews, theatre companies, exhibitions, creative workshops, seminars, fashion shows. Working as a photographer Agata wanted an innovative creative space to work in and provide a space for a multitude of creative disciplines. They have held exhibitions and also had a one day art festival which showed more than 30 artists.
