For Emerging Entrepreneurs - The David Manley Awards 2012
The David Manley Emerging Entrepreneur Awards 2012 are now open, with over €100,000 worth of consultancy services and cash to be won.
The David Manley Emerging Entrepreneur Award honours the enterprising spirit across the spectrum of the Arts, Business and Social sectors. Now in its ninth year, the Award was established by a group of David Manley’s friends in the Dublin Chamber of Commerce to honour his contribution to, encouragement and mentoring of Entrepreneurs during his short life time.
There will be nine shortlisted applicants across three categories: Arts, Business and Social Entrepreneurs.
The David Manley Emerging Entrepreneur Awards are open to all business / artists or arts organisations / social projects who are one of the following :
• Current participants in a business enterprise support programme run by an SME enterprise support agency (eg University, Inst of Technology, Business Innovation Centre or County or City Enterprise Board).
• Affiliated to Business to Arts
• Part of the Social Entrepreneurs Ireland network
The organisation or individual applying should be at least one year in business, but not more than three years.
Each shortlisted company will be asked to complete a more in-depth application form during the second application phase before an interview with the Judging Panel in early December 2011.
The Judging Panel is chaired this year by Dr. Chris Horn and the Awards will be presented in January 2012.
The overall Award Winner will receive in excess of €100,000 in consultancy and cash and each runner-up will also receive a €1,000 cash prize. All nine shortlisted entrepreneurs will receive payroll and accounting software, and mentoring support from Enterprise Ireland’s Mentor Network.
