How To..... Training for Entrepreneurs

The DCEB Training programme are subsidised by FAS by an average of 50-70% thereby making it possible to offer professional courses at very low cost to participants.

“The fact that our courses cost from between €40 and €275 has been made possible by FAS, who recognise as we do, the vital importance of ongoing training for start up and growing businesses", Greg Swift, CEO of DCEB said. The business training programme consists of 10 different courses and 17 training modules on different subjects held over one half-day. The training modules, also heavily subsidised by FAS, cost participants just €40.

Most courses are FETAC accredited and therefore, participants may gain credits to higher qualifications. In response to demand, there will be at least 12 Start Your Own Business courses held in 2008. 'Growing Your Business' courses will be held twice during the year. Other courses include: 'Sales & Marketing', 'Financial Management', 'Management Development', New Product/Service Development, Business Ideas Generation Workshops and Introduction to the Web Development Process. The half-day training modules cover topics and will be held throughout the year. The topics include:  Time Management; Strategic Planning; Credit Control; Winning Tenders; Credit Control; Health & Safety for Small Businesses; Customer Care; Writing a Business Plan and Strategic Planning. Full details of all courses and modules may be obtained from the Dublin City Enterprise Board website www.dceb.ie Participants may book online.
