Introduction to Computerised Accounts Training

Dublin City Enterprise Board will be holding a training session on the benefits of using a computerised accounts package.

The 1 day course will outline the advantages of having an accounts package for the computer for your business and attendees will have a better grasp of the basics of accounting and be familiar with its functions.

Brief Description

Shane Carroll is the Business Advisory Manager with Anne Brady Mc Quillans DFK. Having trained there to become a Charted Accountant, he was promoted to his current position. He has a vast range of experience in all areas of accounting and has a wide knowledge of most computerised accounting packages.

The aim of the program is to familiarise the attendees with accounting principles and the need for using computerised accountancy packages.

The Topics covered will include:
• Advantages of computer packages over traditional manual accouning
• How to use Excel spreadsheets
• Explaining accountancy terms like: Double-Entry, Nominal Ledger, Cash Book, Assets & Liabilities
• To show the common mistakes made using both a manual and a computerised or spreadsheet accounting system with through case studies as examples, using Excel Spreadsheets
