The Link! Network for Start up businesses meeting is on Tuesday 29th July from 6pm – 8pm at the Mont Clare Hotel. The presentation will be on ‘Don’t let your business be taxing!’ Speaker: Jonathan McShane, JMS Business Consulting.
You have followed your dreams and you have now set up your own business, whether you are a sole trader or a company. But sometimes, you are faced with making business decisions that can appear daunting, and we are all familiar with the phrase ‘Putting off today what we can do tomorrow!’ Taxation is one of those topics, yet with the right tax and financial advice, you can save money and so can your business – the tax man can be your friend rather than your enemy!
Jonathan has great pleasure in delivering a presentation on ‘Tax and Finance Issues for Business Start Up’s’ that you may be facing right now. Some of the questions being answered amongst others are:
• What tax do I have to pay?
• When do I have to pay my taxes?
• What can I do now to reduce my tax bill?
• Should I trade as a company or as a sole trader?
• When should I transfer my business into a company?
• Do I have to register for Vat?
As a business owner, you do not have to know all the answers. You just need to have the right people behind you who do!

Members Directory
To enhance and support your networking activities at LINK! meetings, Miriam has proposed to produce a concise Participants’ Listing for network members attending our events (not for guests, they’ll have to join us to avail of this benefit) . This listing or directory will contain (1) your name, (2) your business name, (3) your email address and (4) a short (15 word) description of your business or your activities. In most cases I already have the first three pieces of information. What I need now is a new piece of information from you – Item (4). For item 4, you have fifteen words (absolute maximum) to play around with for the business description (obviously you don’t need to include your name, business name or email address in this text). She will capture this information for you on our database and this entry will be listed in the Participants’ List at each event you attend. This is as much text as she can realistically include in the Participant’s Listing. If you would like your details to be included in the listing at the 29th July event, please let me have this 15-word description either before or with your booking for this event.
The event is open to LINK! members and guests, however you are required to pre-register your attendance in advance. To pre-register for this event please contact Miriam Ahern, LINK! Network Manager, link@dceb.ie
Only members will be included in the Directory (not guests).
