Minister Martin among guest speakers at consumer rights seminar

The Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Micheál Martin TD, the Chief Executive of the National Consumer Agency, Ann Fitzgerald, the Director of the European Consumer Centre, Ireland, Tina Leonard and the Director of Corporate Affairs for Tesco Ireland, Dermot Breen today (Thursday)


 addressed a public seminar on consumer rights at the European Commission offices on Dawson St., Dublin.

This was the third in an extensive series of public meetings that the European Commission is hosting this year.

Commenting on the Seminar, Martin Territt, Director of the European Commission Representation in Ireland said:  “With almost 500 million people living in the 27 Member States of the European Union, the EU comprises one of the world’s largest single groups of consumers.

“Initiatives from the Commission have made flying cheaper and more accessible, have driven down the cost of using a mobile phone and have guaranteed better protection for air travellers and tourists”.

The fourth in the series of seminars, “Intercultural Dialogue – Engaging with each other,communicating with the wider world" will take place on next Monday, March 10 at 6.30pm in the Alexander Hotel, Fenian St. Dublin 2.
