PLATO - Management Development Network

PLATO - Management Development Network

Plato Dublin is a non profit business development organisation which over the past ten years has assisted and supported almost 9000 Owner Managers to successfully develop their business.

A new twenty month programme will commence in May 2009 funded by the 4 Dublin County and City Enterprise Boards.

Plato is a highly successful business development programme now established in eleven countries in Europe and now in 6 regions in Ireland. To date over 9000 small and medium sized companies who have taken part in the scheme have experienced substantial benefits as a result. PLATO is supported by the County and City Enterprise Boards and FAS and a wide range of national and international companies operating in Ireland. These include Microsoft, Diageo, Ericsson, Maxol, AIB, Pfizer, IBM, Jurys Doyle Hotels and many others.

Plato provides practical training, business counselling and support so that companies acquire the skills necessary to help their businesses grow and prosper. PLATO Dublin runs a twenty month programme which concentrates on the needs of small business Owner Managers and allows them to develop their management skills by tapping into a vast pool of expertise and experience in every area of business.
It is based on a network principle where large companies known as parent companies help small companies in their area. Each parent company releases two executives on a part-time basis to facilitate monthly group meetings with SMEs on the large company premises. If  you were to join the programme you would be assigned to a group with 12 other small business owner managers and you would meet every month (in the evening at the large company premises) for twenty months  to address different business topics (such as strategic planning, marketing, employment issues, finance etc). A guest speaker is brought in to address different business topics and SMES are encouraged to share their experiences with one another and learn from one another. As well as monthly group meetings you would also benefit from:

• one day training seminars
• specific training programmes e.g. ISO 9000, ECDL
• networking events with large company buyers
• one to one counselling

An opportunity to take part in this exciting programme is now being offered to companies located in the Dublin area. For more information please contact Mary Keely on 016763973 or email dublin@plato.ie
