Priorities for Dublin Business

Dublin City Enterprise Board are pleased to note that promotion of an entrepreneurial culture received the top ranking according to Dublin businesses in the Dublin Chamber of Commerce survey from six categories which included investment, competitiveness and transport.

Chamber of Commerce Members were asked to assess the current state of the above six categories out of a score of 10 (highest being 10; lowest being 0). The overall rankings were as follows: 1.Promotion of Entrepreneurial Culture 6.4 2.Investment in Science, Education and Training 6.2 3.Quality of Life 5.6 4.Competitiveness 4.9 5.Coordinated Governance for Dublin 4.3 6.Transport 3.6 Chamber of Commerce Members ranked the six issues below in terms of what the priorities for Government over the next 5 years should be: 1.Transport Infrastructure 2.Competitiveness / Business Cost 3.Quality of Life 4.Investment in Science, Education and Training 5.Promotion of Entrepreneurial Culture 6.Coordinated Governance for Dublin When asked how optimistic they are that issues they highlighted would improve over the next 5 years less than 10% were highly or very confident. Dublin Chamber of Commerce received 210 responses from 181 different companies, employing over 139,000 workers and with a turnover in excess of €35.5 bn (excluding financial sector).
