THE I.T. FUTURE IS BRITE

The four Dublin Enterprise Boards have come together to create a programme called B.R.I.T.E., aimed at growing the business of Information Communications Technology companies.

ICT is still a huge growth area for Irish business, both at home and abroad and the Dublin Enterprise Boards have introduced B.R.I.T.E. – Business Related Initiative for Technology-based Enterprises. The two year programme is based on three main elements that are proven ways of assisting growth - training, mentoring and networking. In addition, there will be residential events, talks with industry leaders and a trade mission in 2007. Speaking about the programme, Diane Dignam said “This is probably the most significant step the Enterprise Boards have taken to support established technology-related companies in the day-to-day running of their businesses. Even the term “IT” has evolved into “Information Communications Technology”, so the breadth of companies stretches from software developers to web designers – it’s a vast and growing area. We have industry-leading companies as partners, the programme is run by Accel and the mentors work on a one-to one basis, so it’s a serious commitment from all sides. We know the talent exists, we just want to make sure we equip the business owners with the knowledge to make it viable.” The programme will be launched in the Dublin Enterprise Board territories in the next few weeks, with the first training module starting shortly. The Brite Accel Project is funded by member companies, the European Social Fund, the National Development Fund and the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment.
