THINK EXPORTS

At Dublin City Enterprise Board, we are actively promoting exporting and want to see many more small companies with good projects considering exports.

Conditions in many of our main markets are favourable. The major economies of Mainland Europe are all in the Euro zone and subject to similar regulations. And, after years of stagnation, many of these economies are showing signs of good growth. Similarly, the British economy is showing healthy growth and, given the very favourable Euro – Sterling exchange rate, our nearest neighbour offers good prospects. The good news is that we have Export Grants available for qualifying projects that will fund 50% of the costs of attending overseas exhibitions or events up to a maximum of €5,000. In addition, members of our staff and mentor panel have experience of both export promotion and of international trading. One of the simplest ways of getting into exporting is through ecommerce. Our Commercial Website Development Grant covers 50% of eligible costs up to a maximum of €2,500. Participation in our Website Development course is required. In some ways, exporting is a little like learning to ride a bicycle; it looks difficult, but once you get the hand of it you’ll wonder what all the fuss was about.
