The Irish Times Living Dublin Awards

The Irish Times Living Dublin Awards 2009 is now accepting entries!

The Irish Times Living Dublin Awards we would like to invite you to apply to this year's competition. The Irish Times Living Dublin  Awards celebrate groups, individuals and businesses working to improve the quality of life in Dublin City and The Greater Dublin Area. The aim is to recognise and reward those people, and to encourage others to follow their example. It doesn’t matter how big or small your project is. What matters is that you are trying to make Dublin a better place to live, to work or to visit.

To enter simply book online at www.itlda.ie

CATEGORIES

Your project may fit into more than one category – in that case, please feel free to fill out more than one application form!

Categories
1 Business in the Community
2 Community Development
3 Culture & Tourism
4 Dublin City Neighborhoods

1 Business in the Community

This category is open to businesses that have sought to make a real difference in their communities. Businesses that are involved in a community project or have developed a project in conjunction with their local community are encouraged to apply. Examples include the transfer of business skills through staff involvement or the provision of resources.

In this category the award will be presented to the business involved, with the prize money going to further the community project the business is working with. Community groups are welcome to nominate any company that has worked with them to the benefit of their local areas, and should encourage the company to complete the application form.

2 Community Development

The Community Development Category is open to individuals, groups or organisations involved in projects to improve their local areas and benefit the local population. Entries can include providing a service for residents in the area, raising funds for a particular facility or helping people in need.

3 Culture & Tourism

Individuals, groups, venues or companies who have initiated creative or cultural events or entertainment in Dublin are invited to enter this category. Projects could involve organising a festival, exhibition or arts event. Tourism projects that have improved or developed attractions for visitors are also eligible in this category.

4 Dublin City Neighborhoods

An important feature of The Irish Times Living Dublin Awards is the inclusion of Dublin City Neighborhoods Competition.

Residents’ and tenants’ associations, community and environmental groups are invited to enter this category.

Entries submitted should relate to “clean up” projects which have improved and enhanced the appearance of the locality.
