Making Sure That You Are In A Position To Take Advantage Of The Upturn When it Comes

This interactive discussion will cover:

  • Understanding the downturn and business cycle
  • Understanding the positioning process
  • Making a realistic assessment of where you currently are and
  • Taking the necessary steps to be able to exploit the upturn when it happens


Guest Speaker:   Kenneth Germaine
Kenneth Germaine is Chief Executive Officer of the BASE Enterprise Centre and has held this post since 2000.  Previously, Ken was an Enterprise Officer and entrepreneur.  He has worked in the field of enterprise for nearly twenty years and was a founding member and former Chairperson of the EMERGE Programme, the first specific ethnic minority enterprise programme in Ireland.  Ken holds a B.A. (Hons) in politics and economics from UCD and an M.A. in political science also from UCD and has recently submitted a PhD to TCD on the area of community-based social enterprises in Ireland.  Ken is a director and currently a Vice President of the Institute of Management Consultants and Business Advisers (IMCA) and is Chairperson of the Independent Consultants and Advisers Group.
