Upcoming MicroTrade Events

Go-2-Tender Workshops, September 16th & 17th, Athlone

‘Exporting’ Seminar – Late October

‘Build Ireland Greener’ - Mid November

Go-2-Tender Workshops, September 16th & 17th, Athlone

“The MicroTrade tendering session has given us a renewed confidence in ourselves.  Before we attended the sessions, tendering would have made up around 15% of our business, now it accounts for approximately 50%.” - Ultan Bannon, Bannon & Bannon PR, Dublin.

“Thanks to the course, we know exactly where to look for this potential work.  We now have no hesitation in tackling tenders and can evaluate the potential business and likelihood of success against the cost of taking someone from their daily work to complete the tender. I would strongly recommend the MicroTrade seminar to any company who feels stuck in a rut when it comes to tenders.  It has helped us and driven our business in a totally new direction.”  Sharon McKeown, Integrated Marketing Management, Tyrone.

The public sector market, North and South, is currently valued at £15 billion per annum and the above testimonials testify to the value of the Go-2-Tender programme.

MicroTrade, in partnership with InterTradeIreland and Go-2-Tender, will be delivering the two-day training programme in Athlone on September 16th & 17th, for small businesses wishing to develop their capacity to tender for public sector contracts, North and South.

Go-2-Tender for micro-enterprises comprises of workshops lasting two days which contain the following elements:

The structure of public sector bodies on the island and how they buy goods and services
How to access information on public sector contracts
An in-depth explanation of the tendering process
An overview of the document to be completed
How to prepare a proposal
Fulfilling tender obligations
Speakers/case studies from public procurement professionals and practitioners
Opportunities to use live tenders
Participating businesses also receive a half-day advice session from the delivering consultant, who will provide constructive feedback on tenders you are preparing or have prepared.

We will be recruiting 15 companies (50% from each side of the border) in July to attend the
Programme. Please email info@microtrade.org if you wish to have an application form sent to you. The cost including all workshop material, lunch on both days, and an evening meal is £99 plus VAT.

‘Exporting’ Seminar – Late October

This event will be open to 60 companies from multiple sectors, and will focus on the practicalities of exporting for smaller businesses. Particular attention will be given to North / South trading. The Exporting event will give companies an opportunity to access information on the exporting process, the skills they need, common pitfalls etc. We will be recruiting companies from August onwards.

‘Build Ireland Greener’ - Mid November

“We have a number of customers in the south but we viewed the BIG Event, organised by MicroTrade, as an excellent opportunity to meet with potential new customers and partners. As a result of our attendance, we had a number of sales with attending companies, and since then, have managed to increase our southern customer base by 37%. The pre-arranged meetings enabled us to meet numerous companies within the expanding energy sector, where word of mouth is still a critical factor”. Paul Scullion, Marketing Director of SSC Systems, Portadown.

As testified above, the BIG event held in Galway last October proved very beneficial to attendees from across the island. The upcoming BIG will have a stronger focus on Renewable Energy & Environmental sector. The event aims to assist 60 micro-enterprises from across the island that provide services, materials and technologies geared towards high levels of energy efficiency, occupant health and comfort, and environmental performance, to the construction industry.

Please email info@microtrade.org if you wish to pre-register your interest in attending any of the above events.
