Winning in Tendering is a strategic project aimed at transforming the public tendering experience of Small Indigenous Suppliers (SISs) in the INTERREG Ireland/Wales region. WIT will address skill gaps of SISs (& public procurers) which inhibit the region's competitiveness & sustainable development via unique, innovative & complementary targeted interventions. As part of the Winning in Tendering project based in Dublin City University we will be hosting a series of workshops with small indigenous suppliers. We are interested in engaging with small indigenous suppliers who have previous experience of tendering for public sector contracts at an Irish or EU level. Whether suppliers were successful or not in winning the contract is unimportant. In addition, we request that participants bring the following documents in relation to a previous public sector contract they tendered for, if at all possible:
The Winning in Tendering team at Dublin City University would like to explore the previous experiences of small indigenous suppliers in tendering for public sector contracts at home or abroad. Moreover, we are interested in obtaining the insights of small indigenous suppliers on how they think public sector tendering can be improved and made more small business friendly. Among the questions we would like to discuss in our workshop are:
Subsequent to the workshop the Winning in Tendering team will be in a position to provide a one-off tender review service on an individual basis to selected companies. This tender review service will assist small businesses in identifying where they are falling short in the tendering process and prescribe steps that they can take to improve their chances of success in future competitions for public sector contracts.
