Mompreneurs - Training Method:Business Mom and Baby

Tutor-led, small group based, interactive learning & practical exercises.

Participant Profile:

This course is open to all Moms (New Moms, Empty Nest Moms, Moms to be – all welcome). Moms with an idea or a desire to find a career to fit their lives as mothers and entrepreneurs.

Opportunities are abundant with many hot business trends for Moms. Mothers are socializing, going green and even creating iPhone apps. This workshop is run by moms for moms. This is a workshop for Moms who want to have careers that are supportive of motherhood. They want careers where it's OK to say that family is first. Mothers go into business knowing they will experience challenges. Challenges will sometimes seem impossible to overcome. But where there's a will, there's a way.

This workshop aims to demonstrate that what we are really building both at home and at work is a legacy. As parents, we want to raise children who are happy, responsible citizens. As entrepreneurs, we want to raise a company that contributes to its customers, employees and community.

So many people have an idea, but don't know how to make it a reality. How often have you seen a business or product and thought, "I had that idea"? Many of your favourite products and services were inspired by real-life mom experiences. Clevamama, Baby Einstein and Build-A-Bear are just a few of the companies moms love that were inspired by motherhood. The founders of these companies weren't CEOs and didn't have MBAs. These women were inspired by a motherhood need and then acted on it. They were brave enough to move forward.

One common trait among mom entrepreneurs is that they learn from others. They ask a lot of questions until they find what they need to know. Mom entrepreneurs will be encouraged to share their stories and analyse example of domestic and international brands to learn from them and from their journey to success.

To succeed as a Mompreneur you need to have a dream and a desire to move it forward. If you have the idea, the inspiration, everything else is already out there. You can access virtually any other assistance needed be it financial, legal, product development or sales / marketing.

In this morning day workshop we will help you to deal with the issues and learn the skills necessary to bring your dream to market.
