Types of Financial Asssistance
Financial assistance is only available for businesses in Dublin city that are meet the support criteria and are creating new employment and/or export opportunities.
Feasibility Study/ Innovation Grant
- Up to €7,500 or 50% of costs excluding VAT which ever is lesser
- Claims must be made within 4 months of board approval date
- The DCEB New Product/ Service Development course can help you explore a new business idea before applying for a Feasbility Study grant.
Priming Grant (1/3 or more of approved grant amount is refundable)
- 50% of costs excluding VAT, (average amount €15,000)
- For businesses less than 18 months old
- Claims must be made within 6 months of Board approval date
- You can only apply for Priming Grants if you include Capital and or Salary Costs
- Where a priming grant includes salary costs the first installment is made within 2 months of board approval date and the second installment along with all other approved expenses is paid 6 months later from the date of the cheque from the first installment
Business Development/ Expansion Grant
(2/3 or more of approved grant amount is refundable)
- 50% of costs excluding VAT, (average amount €20,000)
- For businesses older than 18 months
- Claims must be made within 6 months of Board approval date
- You can only apply for Business Development Grants if you include Capital or Salary Costs
- Where a priming grant includes salary costs the first installment is made within 2 months of board approval date and the second installment along with all other approved expenses is paid 6 months later from the date of the cheque from the first installment
- If you have received Dublin City Enterprise Board repayable funding before, you must have repaid in full before submitting further grant applications
Important Note: All above financial assistance applications must be submitted with a current Business Plan and Financial Accounts. 6 Hard Copies of all documentation must be submitted typed and signed.
Seed Capital Scheme & Business Expansion Scheme 
Limited companies that are approved to qualify for a grant by Dublin City Enterprise Board can apply for the Revenue Commissioners Seed Capital Tax Relief/ Business Expansion Scheme (www.revenue.ie for all the information and forms).
- The Seed Capital Tax Relief Scheme is tax efficient way of investing in your own new limited company.
- The BES is for 3rd party investors up to €2million.
To receive certification for the schemes from Dublin City Enterprise Board apply for the relevant grant in the normal way. Applications must get Board approval before a Certificate can be issued.
We can only accept a limited number of applications for every deadline. It is advisable not to leave submitting your application until the day of the deadline. If we have reached our quota we will forward all other applications to the next deadline.
