Michael Kenna’s areas of expertise are in helping to formulate business and marketing strategies, especially for those in start-up or development mode. Providing advice and guidance in identifying and accessing the relevant market data to support the business proposition. Encouraging a clear focus centred on securing a market foothold with particular emphasis on the need to initiate and develop a profitable revenue stream.
Coming from a varied work life experience in engineering, sales, production management and some 27 years with Enterprise Ireland in a business development role across a broad spectrum of industry sectors. In the latter years with the agency Michael Kenna has been involved with companies involved in creating media content - both traditional and digital - for delivery across a variety of platforms, including the Internet and mobile networks. The majority of these clients were in start-up phase and the support provided ranged over initial business planning to strategy formulation and identifying and participating in securing investment support.
He has been the Enterprise Ireland nominee to a number of industry representative bodies, including the IBEC Audiovisual Federation, Screen Training Ireland Animation Committee and the Digital Depot Steering Committee and was instrumental in establishing an Irish Games Industry association.
Since taking early retirement from Enterprise Ireland he has undertaken more than 40 mentor assignments on behalf of DCEB and DLRCEB with companies and sole traders that are largely at start-up stage and mainly but not exclusively engaged in broad digital media related activities.
