The winners of the annual Dublin City Female Entrepreneur Awards were announced at the DCEB Networking event at Wood Quay Venue on 12th December 2011.
The winner of the Most Improved Business Award was Deirdre Hardiman, Hepburn Designs (www.hepburndesigns.ie), pictured below receiving her award from the Chairman of DCEB, Patrick Lynch.

The winner of the ‘Rising Star’ Award was Joanna Norton of Click4ESOL (www.click4esol.com), pictured below receiving her award from DCEB Chairman Pat Lynch.

Most Improved Business Award

The Winner of the 2009 Award for the Most Improved Business in the Dublin City Enterprise Network for Women in 2009 was Karen Brown of Chic Commodities (www.chiccommodities.com ). She won the perpetual trophy, €500 cash and €500 worth of DCEB training vouchers. Karen’s company Chic Commodities is a leading distributor of “ethical and green” brands including an organic fake tan retail range, a professional spray tan, an organic skincare range for men and pure mineral cosmetics. Karen has grown the business from 2 to 7 people over a 2 year period. Among the company’s achievements in 2009 were rolling out of their brands to stockists nationwide, being selected by SFA as Best Emerging New Business 2009 and launching their own brand.
Rising Star Award
The Winner of the 2009 Rising Star award in the Dublin City Enterprise Network for Women in 2009 was Agata Stoinska of D-Lite Studios (http://d-lightstudios.com ). She won €500 worth of DCEB training vouchers. Agata’s company D-Lite Studios rents studio space for photographers, television crews, theatre companies, exhibitions, creative workshops, seminars, fashion shows. Working as a photographer Agata wanted an innovative creative space to work in and provide a space for a multitude of creative disciplines. They have held exhibitions and also had a one day art festival which showed more than 30 artists.

Mary Ryan launched Product Innovator Ltd in 2002 to provide training and coaching in Product Management for the Technology Sector.

Cush’n Shade is the brainchild of Joan Bree. She was presented with the Dublin City Female Entrepreneur Award on Monday 12 November to acknowledge her enterprising achievements in 2007. Cush’n Shade is a portable, foldable, device that combines a cushion and a sunshade that provides neck support and protects the face from the direct rays of the sun while the rest of the body tans.
Jennylynd James of Caribbean Enterprises, won the Rising Star Award at the Dublin City Enterprise Network for Women award ceremony. Jennylynd is a food scientist with a PhD in food biotechnology.
