Book-Keeping for Sole Traders: Workshop
Confused about accounting principles or book-keeping for your business? The Dublin City Enterprise Board workshop called: "Book-keeping for Sole Traders" takes place on January 11th.
This course is specifically designed to give an understanding of the fundamental accounting principles that are necessary in order to cover all the aspects of book-keeping. The course will use TASBasics, the leading accounting software provider in Ireland and each attendee will have full access to a free version to take back to their place of business.

Aims:
- To acquire an understanding of basic book-keeping concepts and terminology
- Acquire the knowledge and skills to record transactions in a manual accounts system and draw up a trial balance
- Understand the main components of a computer system and acquire the skills to carry out various housekeeping tasks
- Appreciate the advantages of computerised accounts and be aware of the main accounting functions
- Appreciate the importance of data accuracy and confidentiality in financial transactions
Outcomes:
- To understand how to use TAS books for a specific business
- To understand the accounting principles underpinning the system
- To use TAS to produce reports needed by the business and to help with Revenue obligations
