John Perry T.D., Minister for Small Business is officially opening the health and safety event, 'Taking Care of Business' on December 6th.
The greatest asset of any enterprise is the employees. By protecting the health and safety of employees, enterprises will see fewer accidents in the workplace and motivated employees, resulting in an increase in the bottom line.
There were over 7,000 non-fatal injuries reported to the HSA in 2010.
In 2009 there were 1,857,700 people in employment, of these 31,744 people suffered injury in the workplace, which resulted in 283,200 days being lost due to injury.
The types of injuries that occur in the workplace include wound or superficial injury, bone fracture, dislocation, sprain or strain, amputation, concussion, internal injury, burn, scald or frost bite and other types of injuries that are not stated.
