Inspiration Pops Up at Start Your Own Business Course

Inspiration Pops Up at Start Your Own Business Course

The current trend of a pop-up shop that can appear today and disappear tomorrow has inspired a Dublin entrepreneur to 'set up shop' himself.

www.popmeup.ie is the first committed website and one stop shop that will launch pop-up enterprises all across Ireland.

The idea for this initiative came about when Joe Prendergast did a “Start Your Own Business” course, run by Dublin City Enterprise Board. He noticed a gap in the market for filling empty commercial units dotted all across the country with ambitious and creative entrepreneurs. While still working fulltime in his career, this entrepreneur launched www.popmeup.ie earlier this year.

Joe is an experienced store manager in a furniture store. His retail and business insight is supported by his expertise in supplying and fitting out residential and commercial properties.

The pop-up venture aims to find ideally positioned vacant commercial units for prospective and established entrepreneurs. Within this commercial space entrepreneurs can promote and test their invention or business on a segment of their target market on a short-term or pop-up basis. Entrepreneurs then have the option to successfully commit to a long-term lease.

PopMeUp.ie are looking for budding entrepreneurs that wish to launch their enterprise but lack the commercial space required to promote their work to get in touch with them and begin creating their own pop-up shop.

PopMeUp.ie provides a solution for vacant commercial units and is therefore also interested in hearing from commercial landlords all across Ireland that would like to occupy their empty units. Installing a pop-up shop can lead to rewarding benefits such as attracting long-term tenants and significant media exposure. An active unit is an attractive unit!

Visit www.popmeup.ie and register your interest in this initiative as a potential pop-up tenant or as a participating pop-up landlord. Help make Ireland's empty commercial units a hub of enterprise and innovation!
