Inspiration for female owners and managers of Dublin City SMEs at National Women’s Enterprise Day on 17th November.
Women in business from Dublin City are expected to join hundreds of female entrepreneurs on November 17th. Inspirational stories and advice from a diversity of innovative businesses will be shared to mark National Women’s Enterprise Day in the Heritage Hotel, Portlaoise.
Co-organised by the Dublin City Enterprise Board, the conference is aimed at women in established businesses or those thinking of forming a start-up enterprise. An exhibition of enterprise support agencies, one-to-one mentoring clinics and networking sessions will also be available. Over 300 women in business attended last year’s National Women’s Enterprise Day.
“National Women’s Enterprise Day is one of a number of important initiatives from the Enterprise Boards, to encourage and support more women in the setting up of their own businesses over the coming years,” said Greg Swift, C.E.O. of Dublin City Enterprise Board.
UK entrepreneur, author and rower, Debra Searle MBE and Domini Kemp, founder of Itsa Bagel, two keynote speakers at the conference will share their success and experience at the conference. The inspiring stories of eight female entrepreneurs will also be presented to an audience of potential and existing women in business. TV3 broadcaster and journalist Collette Fitzpatrick is the conference facilitator and the Minister for Social Protection, Joan Burton T.D., will be speaking at a networking session the evening before, on November 16th.
Debra Searle is renowned for rowing 3,000 miles across the Atlantic on her own after her husband had fallen ill and had to be rescued. She also set a new World Record for Dragon Boating across the English Channel, with her royal counterpart, Kate Middleton. Chef and food writer, Domini Kemp, runs the popular Itsa Bagel with her sister. Their outdoor catering company, Feast Catering, is also thriving alongside two new restaurants.
Subsidised tickets for the conference can be purchased online through www.nwed.ie and cost €100 each, which includes lunch, dinner and all conference materials.
