In Ireland, a research and development incentive was first introduced in 2004, which aims to reward qualifying companies for their creative, innovative and technological activities.

The Irish legislation follows internationally accepted guidelines as set out by the OECD Frascati Model. The Irish Revenue Commissioners have issued technical guidance in this regard that is helpful but the scope for the type of activity and the potential for qualification is wide ranging.

This seminar aims to ensure that those either currently engaging in R & D or those that have an intention to do so are well informed of the potential tax credit available – therefore maximising any potential investment.

About the speaker:  Mark G Byrne is Head of Mazars Research & Development Tax advisory function in Ireland. Mark has assisted a wide range of indigenous Irish and Multinational clients with all aspects of the R&D Tax legislative & administration process.

Mark has built up a significant market profile in the Irish R&D Tax area in recent years and is regularly quoted in the national press and media. Mark in the past has worked in International Corporate Tax with a big four accounting firm and specialised in R&D Tax planning with an International consulting firm.  http://ie.linkedin.com/in/markgbyrne
