As the schools start back - and parents breathe a sigh of relief that the summer holidays are over for another year - the Dublin City Student Enterprise Programme gets underway for 2011/2012
The Student Enterprise Awards is a National Programme, and last year more than 15,000 students took part across the country. Dublin City saw its programme grow last year with more than 40 groups of students showcasing their enterprises at the City Final in Croke Park.
The programme is open to all secondary school students in Dublin City, and runs across three categories; Junior Category for 1st years, Intermediate for 2nd and 3rd years and the Senior Category is open to Transition years and higher. The aim of the programme is to encourage enterprise and innovation among second level students - and to give them the chance to experience running their own business.
Dublin City Enterprise Board provides lots of support to students and teachers alike, including providing resource material, expert speakers, online tutorials and of course school visits and mentoring from our student enterprise co-ordinator Serena Bryans.
