
Pamela Fitzmaurice, founder of Blazing Salads, has been named Dublin City Female Entrepreneur of the Year by Dublin City Enterprise Board, who sponsor the Award.
Blazing Salads provides natural, sugar, wheat and dairy free deserts, salads and frozen foods as well as operating a baker producing handmade, organic, artisan breads. The company’s products are sold in 20 quality deli outlets in Dublin and at the Dublin Food Co-op market and the Monkstown, Malahide, Leopartdstown and Dundrum markets. Established in 2003, the company now employs 15 full time and 3 part time staff and, according to Ms. Fitzmaurice, business has increased by between 40 and 50% so far this year. Blazing Salads are based at 42 Drury Street and have a website www.blazingsalads.com “Pamela has built a very solid business that is very innovative and is expanding rapidly,” commented Pat Lynch, Chairperson, Dublin City Enterprise Board, who presented Ms.Fitzmaurice with the award at the 10th October meeting of the Enterprise Network for Women, that took place at the National College of Ireland. “We are delighted to recognise the achievements of one of our own clients ” Mr. Lynch added. Ayelet Lalor (www.ayeletceramics.com) was commissioned to make the award. With strong influences in fashion and theatre, Ayelet specialises in one-off sculptural figures and other decorative work. Ayelet is another client of the Dublin City Enterprise Board and they are delighted to commission her for this prestigious award.
