Management Development Programme starting 18th September

Effective managers are able to balance the time and effort they put into managing three key areas of their work: managing the task, the team and the individual. This is a highly interactive, practical programme that that has proven to yield impressive results.

Aims of the Programme:

This development programme will equip participants with the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to achieve the balance between managing the task, team and individual and, thus, contribute to the success and growth of the business, as well as themselves and their staff.

Content:

This course will be run over a 6 week period, with one module covered per 4 hour session. Participants will be required to apply the skills and knowledge in their Workplace throughout the programme in order to ensure full learning transfer and skill development. The content is broken down as follows:

  • Module 1: Self Awareness of Individual Styles and Preferences (using the Myers Briggs Type Indicator®)
  • Module 2: Leadership and Team-working Skills
  • Module 3: Stress and Time Management
  • Module 4: Negotiating Effectively
  • Module 5: Managing Workplace Conflict
  • Module 6: Managing Workplace Change

Training Outcomes / Objectives:

  • At the end of the programme, each participant will have:
  • An awareness of their own style, and have identified their particular preferences and strengths An understanding of the ingredients for effective interpersonal relationships and communication
  • Developed key coaching skills An appreciation of the skills needed for effective team working and motivating a team Enhanced their work planning skills
  • An understanding of how to make effective use of their time and the time of others Practiced relevant delegation and problem solving/decision making skills
  • An ability to manage conflict positively in the workplace Learned the key steps in managing change in the workplace
  • An appreciation of their own development needs and preferred learning styles.
