PLATO Business Development Programme

Many people have heard the name PLATO but are not quite sure what it is or does. For any Owner Manager of a small business it is a name that you should become very familiar with it as it could be the key in assisting you to bring your business to where you want it to be.

PLATO is a non profit business development network specifically geared to assist and support Owner Managers of SMEs . It is supported by a range of national enterprise development agencies, particularly the County and City Enterprise Boards and a wide range of well known companies, such as Diageo, IBM, Ericsson, AIB, Irish Life, and many more. Over the past 10 years PLATO Dublin has assisted and supported almost 1100 Owner Managers develop their business. Incorporating a unique blend of support mechanisms PLATO addresses the real needs and ambitions of Owner Managers and in a very practical way makes available to them a vast pool of expertise, experience and resources to enable him/her develop their business. The PLATO process is appropriate to businesses in almost every area of commercial activity. However it does not deal with businesses in a start up situation for which the Enterprise Boards are the appropriate avenue. Ideally businesses should have been in operation for at least two years before joining PLATO. To allow Owner Managers get a feel for how PLATO might work for them a series of Information Evenings will be held over the coming months in various venues around the city/county. At these you will meet the PLATO Dublin team and representatives from the local Enterprise Boards. You will also have the opportunity to meet and talk to some Owner Managers who have already been through the PLATO programme. Information Sessions are taking place on 1. July 18th at 6.30pm in the Stillorgan Park Hotel 2. July 26th at 6.30pm in the Great Southern Hotel, Dublin Airport 3.
